Beautifully Softened Water
Frequently Asked Questions
Please find below a list of frequently asked questions regarding our Water Softeners. If there is something in particular you are looking for that is not below, feel free to get in-touch and well do our best to answer your questions.
What if i go on holiday?
What happens if it leaks?
Rest assured, when we install all of our water softeners, we always fit a bypass to allow you to cut the supply of water to your water softener. You will find two blue levers that can cut the supply of water to the softener and a 3rd black lever that will let the water avoid the water softener through to your main system. Our installation team will talk you though this process and our service team are always on hand to talk you through how to bypass your water softener should you ever need to.
Does my water softener need servicing?
Our Water Softener doesn’t require any servicing. Our water softeners have been designed and manufactured to not require any regular servicing.
Other water softeners need maintenance visits on a regular basis to keep them at a standard level of quality.
Providing you keep your water softener topped up with block salt, you should have no need to service it during its lifetime. As with any device that has been manufactured, there are rare occasions where the water softener may need servicing. We have a service department here to help you.
What happens if i run out of salt?
What type of salt can i use?
How do i know when to change my salt?
The red line inside shows you when to refill or re-order your block salt. If you can see the red line this means it is time to refill the salt in your water softener.
A salt block should be able to fit on top, and you should still be able to shut the lid.
How do i fill the salt block?
Using the grip points on the salt block, place each block in with the grips facing you, the front of the water softener.
Why won't my salt blocks go down?
Is it normal for salt to go down unevenly?
The salt is always drawn from the block that is closest to the brine valve, hence it going down quicker.
It is okay for one side to be completely dissolved away before adding more blocks. As long as there is some salt in one of the chambers, then the water softener will make brine and function correctly.
How much salt will the water softener use?
How long does an installation take?
